Israel Faces Economic Strain and Rising Tensions Amidst Regional Conflicts

Israel is currently grappling with substantial economic losses. According to Israel News Channel, the prices of essential commodities have surged significantly. Turkey, which used to be a key supplier of fruits, vegetables, and other raw food items to Israel, has ceased all trade and commerce with the nation. Jordan, another major exporter of agricultural products to Israel, is also being shunned due to concerns over potential contamination, as Israeli authorities fear the spread of cholera from imported goods.

As a result, the cost of food in Israel has skyrocketed, leading to widespread concern among the population. Many Israelis are stockpiling daily essentials, fearing further instability and potential actions from Iran in retaliation.

The economic downturn is evident, with Israel’s GDP declining steadily, coupled with a rise in unemployment. The nation is edging closer to the poverty line. In a recent development, Colombia has announced that it will halt coal exports to Israel until the ongoing attacks on Gaza cease. The resumption of coal trade is contingent on Israel ending its military actions in the region.
