Six Pakistani soldiers including a Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat killed and 21 others critically injured in an ambush on Pakistani military convoy in North Waziristan.

A Pakistan Army convoy which was going for an operation was ambushed by Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Spinwarm area of North Waziristan.

The instability in Pakistan's Waziristan region and the TTP's heavy presence there have long put Islamabad in a difficult situation. The Pakistani army had lost many soldiers in an ambush at the end of September.
